Hi Emily: Excellent work. I especially like the way that you have (a) organized the LP Popplet and (b) listed meaningful Essential Questions for CHANGE! Monet seems like a developmentally appropriate artist for 3rd grade students. Andy Goldsworthy is another cool artist who represents environmental change. How will you incorporate science and literacy?

"There were not any big behavior problems, but some students were sitting and not doing anything. The classroom teacher went up to those students and conferenced with them about what they were going to make their poem about and what they wanted to photograph that would support it." I'm glad you were able to see classroom management in action. Also, did the safe seat seem to work with the one student you mentioned?

I wonder if students' disinterest had anything to do with a lack of a big idea? While learning new techniques might interest some students, this alone is not likely to inspire all students.
